Water-saving plant box

BOXofGREEN is a specially developed stone wool box that functions as a water reservoir, capable of absorbing up to 400 liters of water.
This way, the tree owner hardly has to do any watering.  
The sides of the BOXofGREEN box absorb the naturally occurring surface water that runs to it and it draws moisture from the surrounding soil, thereby supplying the tree's roots with the right amount of oxygen and water. The tree’s roots quickly work their way into the specially developed structure of the stone wool, ensuring natural, strong, and healthy growth. It's that simple!

What is BOXofGREEN made of?

And why is it so ideal as a growing medium?

Our rock wool is made from the volcanic rock, basalt (just like the sample we have in the office)
Basalt is naturally occurring, easy to source, and abundantly available.
In the production process, basalt is heated to about 1500 °C, where it melts and is then spun into fine fibers that resemble wool.
These fibers, along with a small amount of binding resin, form the basis for the rock wool we use in our growing media at BOXofGREEN.

The material is extremely good at absorbing and holding water (actually up to 97% of the volume of BOXofGREEN batts), and therefore ideal for placing around trees and bushes' root systems. Here, the fine hair roots can work their way into the rock wool and absorb the water and oxygen contained in the fibers.

Over time, the rock wool in the soil will slowly break down to the material it was originally closest to: gravel and sand. But by that time, the newly planted tree will have already established itself healthily and naturally.

Depends a bit on the weather, but 3 to 5 times first growth year. 2 to 3 times second growth year.

Depends a bit on tree type: Trees with large crowns and very dense foliage may need staking for 2 years.

For other tree types, the staking can be removed after the first year.

Yes, you can definitely do that, all hair roots have so much power from the stone wool that they grow out into the surrounding soil without any trouble.

Yes, BOXofGREEN can be buried in a star shape around the trunk, where it can serve both as a watering element, but also as a growth enhancement.

The tree continues to grow, there are incredibly many trees that grow in compacted sandy soil
