The planting box for tree planting
BOXofGREEN is a box with four sides specially developed stone wool held together and packed in a hessian sack.
BOXofGREEN acts as a water reservoir that can absorb up to 400 liters of water. The stone wool absorbs naturally occurring rainfall, thereby supplying the tree's hair roots with moisture.
As soon as the tree is planted, roots and hair roots begin to work their way out towards and into the stone wool. The hair roots quickly attach themselves to the stone wool panels, thereby stabilizing the tree.
In the film, a BOXofGREEN and the root network of about a 15-year-old Swamp Oak (Quercus palustris) can be seen in its second growing season after planting.
